HanulTL Introduces Elephant Bio 23 Reusable Cold Chain Packaging

MFDS ‘Verification of Transportation’ came into effect in Korea from June 2020
The MFDS made a partial revision of the Korean Good Manufacturing Practice and revised it with ‘Verification of Transportation’ clause, effective from June 29, 2020. As a result, finished medical products, investigational medicinal products, bulk products and samples should be transported following the conditions defined in the marketing authorization, the approved label, product specification file or as justified by the manufacturer. Risk assessment should be carried out on the transportation process. And, continuous monitoring and recording are required during transportation.
Elephant Bio 23
Elephant Bio 23 is a reusable packaging using a VIP box and PCMs which can maintain more than 72 hours at 2°C to 8°C under ISTA 7D profile (Summer & Winter). It can maintain a controlled room temperature (15°C to 25°C), a frozen condition (-20°C to -80°C) using dry ice. Elephant Bio packaging sizes are available from 6 Liter to 80 Liter. Elephant Bio packaging is made in Korea and is competitively priced.
Some advantages of Elephant Bio 23 are as follows:
- Combination of optimal insulation material: VIP, PUR, XPS and double lattice structure to increase temperature stability and durability.
- Inner box: Using ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) material which is resistant to impact and heat, the packaging is more robust and easy to separate, and clean after use.

Many pharmaceutical organizations such as GC Pharma, Hana Pharm, GEO-YOUNG, and Public Health Centers selected HanulTL’s Elephant Bio to maintain the required temperature of pharma products and coronavirus samples during transportation. Beyond Korea, HanulTL singed a two year agreement to supply Elephant Bio to a medical company in Indonesia. Also, HanulTL is discussing with customers in Slovenia, Brazil and Poste Italiane to export Elephant Bio.
HanulTL CEO Jayden Roh said “New pallet shippers (150 Liter to 400 Liter) will be launched at the end of the year. We are also developing cold chain packagings, carton boxes and PPE using new natural materials which are 99.9% antibacterial and anti-fungal. The new anti-infection products are planned to be rolled out at the end of 2020.”
