EMBALL’ISO opens new Subsidiaries and Production Center in APAC region

Update : 27th June, 2024

EMBALL'ISO continues to expand in Asia-Pacific. EMBALL`ISO Japan opened a “Production, Recycling, and Temperature Control Service Center” in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, last summer. At first, the centre was mainly used for inventory storage, but this year it began full-scale recycling and production of containers.

Previously, the company procured and stocked containers from overseas production bases in China and other countries, but now it has introduced equipment capable of cutting and processing packaging materials at its Narita facility, enabling it to quickly provide packaging containers that meet cargo characteristics and other requirements. The company expects to further expand its handling of these containers.

Containers and refrigerants collected in Japan are sent to the Narita site for cleaning and repair, followed by a quality check to ensure that the reusable containers have the same temperature control performance as new ones. Previously, these schemes were outsourced to partner companies, but the new centre will be managed and operated directly by EMBALL`ISO Japan for the purpose of quality assurance.

EMBALL`ISO strives to reduce environmental impact as part of its corporate philosophy and began recycling its own containers in 2009. With the opening of the new base, the company will further promote its environmentally friendly business model in Japan.

“We are the only foreign company offering temperature-controlled containers that has its own production system in Japan. The company's containers and solutions are widely used globally by major pharmaceutical manufacturers, and quality is assured. Lack of pharmaceuticals are life-threatening, so we must avoid the inability to transport them due to lack of containers. Being able to provide containers flexibly and reliably differentiates us from our competitors.”

In addition to the existing local production systems in Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Vietnam, the UK, and the US, EMBALL’ISO has established a local entity in Australia and recycling/production facilities in Vietnam in the past two years. In addition, the company plans to open a facility in South Korea by the end of this year. The production site in China will be expanded by the end of the year, and other projects are under way for the APAC region. The company is improving its global response capabilities.

EMBALL'ISO starts a business in Korea, and from April 2024, Ho-jin Lee was appointed as business development manager and will launch a business in. EMBALL`ISO will participate in the coming BIOPLUS-INTERPHEX KOREA in Seoul from July 10th to 12th, 2024 to present our products and services.

What sets EMBALL’ISO apart from its competitors is the light weight of their insulated packaging:

EMBALL’ISO works with lightweight, reusable materials to limit CO2 emissions during transport and to enable packaging to be reused many times before being recycled. Pallet Shippers are up to 75% lighter than its competitors' active containers, for a performance that's the same. Its long-standing eco-design approach means EMBALL’ISO can offer solutions that meet today's environmental challenges.

Weight is becoming the key to reducing CO2 emissions.

Another point that sets EMBALL’ISO apart is that EMBALL’ISO fully manages the return of isothermal packaging on behalf of our customers. It's not the job of pharmaceutical companies to manage isothermal packaging after use. Over the last 10 years, EMBALL’ISO has built up a global network that enables us to recover isothermal packaging in over 80 countries. Customers have just to let EMBALLO’ISO know if they have some packaging to collect. EMBALL’ISO comes and collects their packaging, takes care of the refurbishment and repositions it by ship to another destination if necessary.

EMBALL’ISO specializes in high-performance temperature-controlled packaging systems, particularly for the pharmaceutical industry. Founded in 1990 and based in Saint-Georges-de-Reneins, France, the company offers a range of products that maintain temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals within specific temperature ranges during transport. Their product line includes solutions like pallet shippers and small packaging systems that utilize gel and phase change materials to stabilize temperatures.

EMBALL’ISO plays a significant role in managing cold chain risks, providing solutions such as rental services, reverse logistics, and connected solutions that help pharmaceutical labs, clinical trial operators, and logistics companies control the temperature of their products from production to delivery. Within 35 years, EMBALL’ISO has expanded to four continents with 12 factories (Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, Vietnam, the UK, and the US), more than 15 service hubs allowing both a global supply and –more importantly – the introduction of reuse networks for insulated packaging on an international level.
