The largest comprehensive bio-industry convention in Korea, 'BIOPLUS-INTERPHEX KOREA 2024 (BIX 2024)', hosted by the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization and RX Korea, will be held for three days from July 10 to 12 at COEX.

BIX 2024 will feature around 250 companies from 15 countries, comprising over 450 booths covering all sectors of the bio-industry. Notably, four special pavilions reflecting the latest trends in the current bio-industry—Bio Materials, Parts, and Equipment (SoBuJang), CMO/CDMO, Digital Healthcare, and Cold Chain—are expected to draw significant attention.

The theme of this year's BIX conference is 'Embrace All Possibilities', aiming to explore growth drivers amidst all possibilities and achieve innovation through these opportunities. Starting with a keynote session by Richard D. Braatz, a professor at MIT, on the topic "Current Status and Promise of mRNA Biotherapeutics," a total of 35 sessions (21 specialized sessions and 13 insight sessions) will be held over three days in the conference rooms on the third floor of COEX.

The CMO/CDMO special pavilion will feature major global CDMO companies such as Samsung Biologics, Lonza, Catalent, and WuXi Biologics. The SoBuJang special pavilion, representing domestic bio-materials, parts, and equipment companies, also holds high expectations. Companies participating in the Bio SoBuJang Solidarity Cooperation Council special pavilion have attended BIX for three consecutive years, striving to secure the global supply chain.

The Cold Chain special pavilion, representing the only cold chain logistics and packaging in Korea, will feature leading global companies such as CSafe, Envirotainer, World Courier, Marken, SkyCell, ELPRO, Geodis, and EMBALL'ISO seeking new business opportunities with the domestic and international bio-pharmaceutical industry.

Meanwhile, the 'Docent Program', a special group tour to support professional exhibition viewing for visitors, will be operated again this year. Industry-leading influencers will participate in the docent tours, introducing industry trends and participating companies. The tours will take place on the last day of the event, July 12, at 12:00 PM (Part 1) and 12:40 PM (Part 2).

In Part 1, Linda Kim, CEO of Cold Chain Platform (CCP), will join as a docent, explaining trends in the cold chain industry and the latest technological developments of each company. In Part 2, Eun-Gyo Lee, Head of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, will lead the tour, providing detailed explanations about CMO/CDMO and Bio SoBuJang. Applications for the docent tours are currently being accepted on the official BIX website, with the deadline being July 11.

Additionally, leading global lab equipment companies such as Merck, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher, Cytiva, and Solventum (3M Healthcare), as well as various bio-industry representative companies, including bio-venture startups under Seoul Bio Hub, will participate, enriching the BIX exhibition hall.
